Natto!
Have anyone of you ever tried Natto? I tried once in a Malaysia Japanese restaurant but it was awful. : (
Although inside the Natto they added soybean sauce and a bit of wasabi but when you taste it, the smell is really too STRONG!!.

If you guys tried Smelly Toufu(Chou Toufu). You guys should know how smelly it is when u haven't even try it. Natto somehow looks similar like Smelly Toufu but Natto is more worst than Smelly Toufu.
It has a strong smell, strong flavor and also a slippery texture which i don't really like it.
I almost puke when i had it!
Natto has a lot of nutrition!

Natto Packaging - comes with soybean sauce and wasabi |
Example like Vitamin K. It also contains chemicals alleged to prevent cancer. A study in Taiwan also stated that it can prevent diseases such as Alzheimer's. I really think Natto is one of the healthiest food around the World, as in it can prevent so many diseases.
Even though it doesn't really taste good but i tried to finish it. If you would like to try it, i advise you to eat it together with rice or noodle! It really works when comes to minimize the strong smell as much as possible! : )
I LOVE JAPANESE FOOD!!!!!! Haha. Anyway, is the natto like a bean? It looks like baked beans! I haven't tried smelly tofu! Maybe I should soon.
ReplyDeleteI love Japanese food too! Yes, it is a type of bean. If u really want to try smelly tofu, you can find it at those night markets!
DeleteYeah, it looks more like a bean. At first glance i thought it was a weird breed of mushroom LOL.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Basically, it just a type of bean but it will have the slippery texture after putting in the soybean sauce.
DeleteWhat was the name of the restaurant that sold the Natto? I'd better avoid that place...
ReplyDeleteI forgot the name of the restaurant but it is located in Malaysia.
DeleteThe food certainly does not look appetizing to me. What are the main ingredients used to make Natto?
ReplyDeleteA type of Japanese bean, soybean sauce and a bit of wasabi to cover the strong smell.
DeleteWhen you say it has a strong smell, do you mean its like Durian's? If it is, maybe the concept is the same as Durian's to Americans and the Japanese love it. Healthy food do taste bad though =X
ReplyDeleteHmm, you are right. However, i prefer comparing Natto with smelly tofu because I, myself think that Durian's smell is better :D
DeleteMaybe i'll stay away from Japanese food! hahah! Well there is a saying in I don't know which god-forsaken country that goes like, "Never trust a doctor who prescribes honey." Similarly, even though this Natto might smell like... Well just smell too strong, it has a lot of nutrition and can even prevent Alzheimer's. Maybe, when I eat this I might put a clothes-peg on my nose?
ReplyDeleteHaha! Not all Japanese food are as smelly as natto. Japanese food seriously is much more healthier than many other kinds of food! Example like Sashimi! Yeah! If you got a chance to taste natto, no harm trying it! :D
